Grasshopper (?Sp.)

Actual size 30mm, Queensland Australia

Canon300D with 100mm f2.8 macro lens, f/16, 1/125 with fill in flash

Grasshoppers sing by rubbing their serrated hind legs together (crickets use their wings).  They 'hear' the song via membranes in the front segment in their abdomen (crickets have similar membranes in their front legs)
